Well Folks,
I'm really confused why The Shell Oil Company would send me the below email. I probably need to explain, I launched a Sago Palm web site warning pet owners about how deadly Sago Palms are to pets. Mr. Schotanus is commenting on that web site and how helpful it would be for more cats to die. He picked the wrong person to send his email to, as I lost Bella, my cat, to a Sago palm Plant. Instead of firing back an angry email, I did a little research on what The Shell Oil Company's standings are about the environment. I was shocked! Before reading the email I was sent, read some of the allegations against the Shell Oil Company:
Shell's Contributions to Humanity
I have to tell you that I'm shocked! Come to your own conclusions on this email, but I have already reached my conclusions.
I received the following email:

Subject: protect our native birds
Good web link (
www.mo-driver.com/sago-palm-plants-kill.htm), it was part of our monthly safety information session at work.
You may be unaware that alien pets in the US, like domesticated cats, are wreaking havoc amongst our native species of birds worldwide, which themselves help to control massive amounts of insect pests, and save our agriculture millions per year.
A small scale research project in the UK came to the unmistakable conclusion that in the restricted area investigated (I think something like 20 by 20 square miles) the annual death toll of birds by cats was several million. Most birds were dragged onto the proverbial doormat without even receiving the common courtesy of being eaten, as was also the case with mice, stoats, and many other protected native species.
Trust you find enough reason to come up with a similar, very useful website warning all potential and current cat owners in the US about the inherent dangers of this imported, costly, and deadly species, and putting pressure on all veterinary offices and pet stores in the country to discourage people from persisting in such totally irresponsible behavior (as owning or being owned by cats should be referred to). Come to think of it, a few more Sago plants in the citified suburbs might just help even the odds a bit, although I find these Sago plants are never around when you need them. We could call it ‘natural justice’, or ‘eco-balance’.
Thanks,
Dave
